You Know I Love the Vikings ...

... and in a fit of fiscal irresponsibility, plunked down an obscene amount of money to get an Adrian Peterson jersey. I blew the horn in joy over the destruction of the New York Football Giants last Sunday, and was giddy the rest of the day. My computer plays the Vikings fight song when it boots up.

But at some point, Vikings obsession becomes theologically irresponsible.

Supporting the Vikings is responsible behavior. Supporting the Packers is irresponsibility.

Go Dallas!

As an OU fan I used to love Adrian Petersen. Now, he plays for the Vikings. I always knew the Vikings were the antichrist - and that site just lends credence (get it, credence) to my theory.

Bear down, Chicago Bears, make every play on the way to victory!

Thanks, Norman - you made me smile!

Eric, can we agree that the Packers are the true antichrist? I have always reserved my greatest animosity for them, which causes me to root heartily for the Bears at least two times per year.

I suppose I could mention that the Papacy is, all joking aside, the Antichrist - but that might upset some of my commenters.

Well, the problem is - I became aware of the Bears in the late 80s, the pre-farve, pre-Makowski Packers - so they were always. . . powerless. It was the Vikings who challenged the Bears. . . and so the Vikings were the arrogant, evil, purple ones (of course, you'd think the fact that I like Prince would work in their favor).

Sorry. . . I view the Packers as the Turks - wrong faith but noble. I'll not join with you in fending against them.

And note how it is sad that no one cares about Detroit.

I must be slow, but I don't get Eric Brown's joke about credence. I am willing to show my stupidity in this public forum.

Nice comparison between the Packers and the Turks.

When the Packers come to Minneapolis, the local radio stations direct messages eastward stating that male fans are to use the sinks only for washing their hands after the deed has been done. The announcement states that the Metrodome has up-to-date plumbing for the intended purpose the use of which may not be familiar to all who travel from the east to the west for the game.

They wrote a creed. Credence is from the same word - both deal with what is believed or believable.
